Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the QRHop macOS application, the qrhop.app website, and email-based customer support handle information. “QRHop,” “we,” and “us” refer to the independent developer of QRHop.

QRHop for macOS

Clipboard content

QRHop reads the Mac clipboard only when you explicitly ask it to show a QR code, such as by pressing the configured shortcut or choosing the corresponding menu command. The content is processed locally on your Mac and is not transmitted to us or to a third-party service.

Generated QR codes

QR codes are generated locally and held in memory while needed. QRHop does not automatically save or upload them. If you choose Save, macOS presents its standard save panel and QRHop writes the PNG only to the location you select. If you choose Copy, the generated image is placed on your local clipboard.

Preferences

Your keyboard shortcut and related app preferences are stored locally using standard macOS preferences. QRHop does not synchronize these settings to our servers.

Network, accounts, and tracking

The app does not require an account and does not contain advertising, analytics SDKs, behavioral tracking, or a QRHop network service. It does not collect device identifiers, usage history, diagnostics, purchase history, or clipboard content.

The QRHop website

The website is static. It does not use advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, third-party fonts, or non-essential cookies.

Like most websites, the web server may process limited technical request information—including IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time—to deliver pages, maintain security, diagnose failures, and protect the service from abuse. We do not use this information to build user profiles or track people across websites.

Support communication

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message, and any information you voluntarily include. We use it only to respond, investigate the reported issue, maintain support continuity, and protect the service.

Please do not send passwords, authentication tokens, private clipboard content, or screenshots containing sensitive information.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We do not share information for advertising or cross-service tracking.

Limited information may be processed by infrastructure providers that operate the website, domain, DNS, or support mailbox, solely as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, QRHop, or the public.

Retention and deletion

  • App data: QRHop has no server-side user account or clipboard database for us to retain or delete.
  • Website logs: routine server logs are configured to be retained for no more than 30 days, unless a specific security incident requires longer preservation.
  • Support email: routine correspondence may be retained for up to 12 months after the issue is resolved, then deleted unless continued retention is reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, or an ongoing support matter.

You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing support@qrhop.app. We may need enough information to locate the correspondence and verify that the request comes from the relevant sender.

Children’s privacy

QRHop is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when QRHop’s features, infrastructure, or legal obligations change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised date. If a change materially affects how the app handles data, we will also update the app and its App Store privacy information where appropriate.
